It's not about hours in the ocean, number of weeks you've been surfing or how old you are. This section chooses you, you don't choose it. How do you know you're ready for this section? Where are you in the big picture of surfing talent?
Here's a bit of a guide... You see boats in a harbor and straight away know what the wind is doing. You fix your owns dings, the day you get them. You notice the surf in the background of a clichéd car ad when the convertible speeds round cliff-top roads. Wet wetsuits don't scare you. You get excited when you see an intense low on a weather map. You watch a wipeout and accurately predict a broken board. You flick through surf mags and almost always know where the shot was taken, even though there's no land as an indicator in the photo.
This section's all about refinement. How to hit the wash higher on roundhouse cutbacks, grabbing a rail in tight spots and getting your top turns actually to the top. If you're here, you already know a lot about surfing so I won't be too specific. Don't wanna flood you with the gear you already know, okay? Let's ride...
